Avengers: Endgame is the big winner after this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards. The Marvel blockbuster picked up three awards at last night's show - Best Movie, Best Hero for Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man, and Best Villain for Josh Brolin's Thanos. Game of Thrones was named Best Show, Lady Gaga picked up Best Performance in a Movie for A Star Is Born, and Elisabeth Moss scored Best Performance in a Show for The Handmaid's Tale. Taylor Swift’s new video for her latest single, You Need to Calm Down, has already racked up more than 22 million views in a little over 24 hours. Ryan Reynolds, RuPaul, the cast of Queer Eye and several other celebrities have cameos but the most talked about is Katy Perry dressed as a hamburger. Taylor, dressed as French fries, gives her formal rival a hug. When asked about the scene, Taylor said it is a symbol of redemption and forgiveness.
Ed Sheeran is showing his love for ketchup in a new Heinz ad. He pitched the idea for the ad to Heinz on Instagram in April. Sheeran and the company also teamed up on his own limited-edition line of Edchup, which sold out earlier this month shortly after its release.
It is every parent’s nightmare…having your kids walk in on you in the middle of…well…you know. Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos guest hosted yesterday on Live with Kelly and Ryan. Apparently their daughter, Lola, is now scarred for life after walking in on the couple over the weekend…on her birthday!
Hungers Games fans rejoice! Author, Suzanne Collins is working on a prequel. The official Hunger Games Instagram account posted a photo this morning.
It is actually a repost from the publisher that says
“Exciting news, Hunger Games fans: A prequel novel set 64 years before the events of The Hunger Games is set to publish in May 2020. On returning to the world of The Hunger Games, author Suzanne Collins said, “With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival. The reconstruction period ten years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days-as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet-provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”
The Jonas Brothers have a lot to be happy about these days. They are all in loving relationships, they have a two hit songs on the radio, their Amazon documentary, Chasing Happiness, has been well received and now they can add number one album to that list. The recently reunited family band’s latest project, Happiness Begins, has debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 this week. It also scored the largest sales week for an album in over a year, the biggest sales week for the Jo Bros in over a decade. The Jonas Brothers kick off their Happiness Begins Tour in August. They will be in Kansas City at the Sprint Center on 9/22/19.
