Spend The Night At Downton Abbey
If I can’t be a real life Disney princess then I will do the next best thing…sleep in a real castle! For one night only, you and a guest can pretend to be part of the Crawley family as you sleep in Highclere Castle, the home of Downton Abbey. Fans of the hit PBS show will have a chance to book a room for $159.
Hear all about the castle's history from the current residents whose family has called Highclere home since 1679. According to airbnb.com, you will “enjoy an exclusive evening drinking cocktails in the Saloon followed by a traditional dinner with the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon in the State Dining Room, being waited on by Highclere Castle’s own butler. After dinner, coffee will be served in the Library before you retire to one of the Gallery bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom and views over 1,000 acres of rolling parkland”
Now, the bad part is you can only stay for one night on November 26th and you have to beat the rest of the world to it when the reservation opportunity goes live on October 1 at 12PM BST. The website says “You must have a verified Airbnb profile, positive reviews, and be passionate about Downton Abbey” . Have your guest’s information ready if you miraculously become the person to book the listing. Good luck! The rest of us will have to be satisfied with immersing ourselves into the Downton Abbey world for a few hours when the movie hits theaters this Friday (9/20/19)
